Government has commented on calls by some sectors of the society for the firing of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.
Minister of Information and Digitization Gospel Kazako made a comment on the matter on Wednesday morning in Lilongwe when he faced the press alongside Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Titus Mvalo.
According to Kazako, government may lose a lot of money if it were to fire Chizuma.
A grouping of people under the banner Concerned Citizens has organised vigils at Parliament building in Lilongwe following the lapse of a seven-day ultimatum it gave to government to fire Chizuma for discussing work related issues with an outsider.
However, Kazako said President Lazarus Chakwera is satisfied with Chizuma’s work as ACB director general and does not intend to fire her.
