Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has asked president Lazarus Chakwera and his cabinet to reduce their salaries by 50 percent.
CDEDI’s Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa has also asked president Chakwera to reduce the number of his advisors.
Namiwa said it is hard for Malawians to believe the austerity measures that president Chakwera has put in place because he seems to contradict himself as he is still wandering around.
Namiwa said this during a joint press briefing in Lilongwe with a grouping called Concerned Citizens.
