Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe says they are yet to determine the number of beneficiaries of this year’s Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP).
Lowe said the determination is pending the finalization of contracts with fertilizer suppliers.
Speaking in Blantyre on the sidelines of a meeting with commercial tobacco growers and the Tobacco Commission team, Lowe said processes are at an advanced stage.
During the 2021 agriculture season, farmers under the program were buying a 50 kilogram bag of fertiliser at a subsidised price of K7,500.
