Ministry of Health says the administration of the first round of cholera vaccine in Neno district is progressing  well.

According to spokesperson for the ministry Adrian Chikumbe Neno was left out in the first round because there was no cholera case reported at that time but it was also not in the ministry’s budget.

“What we did after administering the first dose of the cholera vaccine was that we took all the remaining vaccines to Neno because initially we had not budgeted for the district, the first round only targeted eight districts”.

Chikumbe added that are targeting about three hundred thousand people in this round.

Cumulatively Neno has registered 128 cholera cases including two deaths.
