Parliament on Friday unanimously approved the appointment of Merlyn Nachulu Yolamu as the new Inspector General of the Malawi Police Service.
Both sides of the House voted yes for the appointment of Yolamu to head the service on the basis of her competence, experience and integrity.
Yolamu who boasts of 35 years’ experience in the police service, has become the first woman confirmed to ascend to the helm of power at the Police Service.
