The Ministry of Health says it is currently engaging different partners for technical and financial support in preparation for the fourth phase of polio vaccination campaign.
Without mention exact dates, Ministry of Health spokesperson Adrian Chikumbe said the fourth round will commence anytime soon.
Chikumbe said the three rounds of the campaigns faced challenges as some parents and guardians were reluctant to get their under five children vaccinated, hence the ministry is sensitizing the masses on the importance of the vaccine.
“We had learnt a lot of lessons from the first two rounds which helped us in the subsequent round to be done successfully, but still we met parents who were refusing to get their children vaccinated due to different beliefs,” Chikumbe said.
