Another heavy defeat has been registered in the elite TNM Super League game between Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Rumphi United on Wednesday.
Rumphi United has received a baptism of fire in the hands of the hosts Nomads following a 10-0 thriller at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
This is the second match where football lovers in Blantyre have seen a storm of goals in a single game this season following another match between league leaders Nyasa Big Bullets against the struggling TN Stars which the later scored eight goals.
In Wednesday’s game, Wanderers Muhammad Sulumba registered a hat-trick to take his tally to 14 goals and dislodged Bullet’s Babatunde Adepoju from the top of the golden boot race.
Other goals came from Yamikani Chester and Vincent Nyangulu who scored 2 goals each, while Isaac Kaliyati, Mathews Masamba and Aubrey Maloya were on target with a goal each.
Following the result, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers are now on position four with 44 points from 23 games while Rumphi United is still anchoring the table with 10 points from 27 games.
This means Rumphi United has become the first team to be officially relegated from the league this season.
