The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB), in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, has released the 2022 Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examination results.
In a statement released on October 13 and signed by MANEB Executive Director, Dorothy Nampota, indicates that out of 154,495 candidates who sat for the examination, 112,897 have passed representing 73.07 percent pass rate.
Out of the total number of candidates who sat for the examination, 77,484 were females and 77,011 were males.
Out of the total number of the female candidates, 56,056 have passed representing 68.47 percent pass rate.
A total of 970 Special Needs Education (SNE) candidates who sat for the examination, 685 have passed representing 70.62 percent.
Phalombe district has performed better than any other district in the country after registering 85.14 percent pass rate and is followed by Zomba urban which has reached 83.93 percent.
Mulanje is on third position with 82.76 percent.
On the other hand, Nsanje has performed poorly among all the district districts in the country with 63.17 percent pass rate.
Among the highest performing schools with 100 percent pass rate and a high percentage of candidates who scored As and Bs, St Kizito seminary has topped the list with 95 percent followed by Likuni boys with 87 percent.
A total of 159,964 candidates registered for the examination.
