The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS) has warned that parts of the southern, central and lakeshore areas will experience rain showers accompanied with thunderstorms from October 19 to October 21, 2022.
Speaking to YFM, spokesperson for the department Yobu Kachiwanda said although the rains are not for planting, there is need for people to be vigilant from strong winds that comes due to high temperatures ahead of the rainy season.
“Normally most areas experience high temperatures and winds, rains are strong and volatile hence people should be very cautious to prevent loss of life and property,” he said.
Kachiwanda further urged people to prepare for the rainy season by among others, repairing their infrastructure.
“School authorities should repair their infrastructure as the rainy season is going to start soon,” Kachiwanda said.
