The First Grade Magistrate’s Court in Thyolo has sentenced Mike Soko Chikosa, 44, to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling an 8-year-old girl.

State Prosecutor Sub Inspector William Felix Senzani told the court that the girl’s father employed Chikosa as her part time teacher.

Senzani said Chikosa defiled the girl in her father’s house after finishing lessons on October 3, 2022.

First Grade Magistrate Kondani Chinangwa said the sentence should serve as a warning to would- be offenders.
