Health rights activist George Jobe says the coming in of the 2.9 million doses of vaccine has brought a sense of hope to Malawi amidst rising cases of cholera.
Jobe told YONECO FM online that the recent Cholera vaccine stock out strained the country a lot.
Jobe has therefore appealed to the ministry of health to ensure there is equal distribution of the vaccine in the affected districts.
“Though the ministry of health has been sensitizing people on good hygiene and sanitation practices we still saw Cholera cases surging but the vaccine is one of the lasting solutions we’d want to see being implemented,” Jobe said.
He also implored on people to get the vaccine in order to be safe from the disease.
The cumulative confirmed cases and deaths of Cholera reported since the onset of the outbreak is 7,030 and 207 respectively.
