The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima in connection to Zuneth Sattar’s corruption allegations.
In a statement, ACB spokesperson Egrita Ndala said Chilima allegedly received a bribe in form of money amounting to USD 280,000 and other items to influence awarding of public contracts to Zuneth Sattar’s linked companies, Xaviar Limited and Malachitte FZE.
Ndala said Chilima allegedly received the said advantage between March and October 2021.
Chilima is answering three counts of corrupt practices by a public officer, two counts of receiving advantage for using influence in regard to contracts and one count of failing to make a full report to a police police officer or an officer of the Bureau that an advantage had been corruptly given.
