The death toll from the cholera outbreak has increased to 841 as the number of new infections jumped by 16 in a day.

Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda said in a statement on Monday that the country reported 551 new cases in the 24 hours.

“The cumulative confirmed cases and deaths reported since the onset of the outbreak is 25,458 and 841 respectively, with case fatality rate at 3.30%,” the statement reads.

Chiponda urged people to continue practicing hygienic and sanitation and adhering to the cholera preventive measures in order to contain the pandemic.
