Public Appointments Committee of Parliament has confirmed the appointment of Masauko Chamkakala as the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

According to the committee’s chairperson, Joyce Chitsulo, 14 out of the 16 members present during the confirmation interview, voted yes.

Chitsulo says the committee is confident that Chamkakala who has replaced Dr. Steven Kayuni will deliver to the expectation of Malawians.

Speaking to the media, Chamkakala pledged to end the working disagreements that have been there been the office of the DPP and the Anti-corruption Bureau.
