Blantyre District Health Office (DHO) says it is struggling in its fight against cholera outbreak due to inadequate resources and rising cases.
Limbe Health Centre officer in-charge Dora Mwafulirwa disclosed this when Illovo Sugar Malawi Limited donated assorted items including buckets of chlorine, soap and a tent worth 20 million Kwacha.
Mwafulirwa therefore pleaded with other institutions to come forth and assist in the fight against the outbreak.
Illovo Sugar Malawi Limited managing director Lekani Katandula said it is the responsibility of his company to complement government’s efforts in the fight against the outbreak.
Katundula revealed that a contractor has already been identified to build five pit latrines and five bathrooms at Limbe Health Centre which is close to the company’s head office premises.
