Rights activist Sylvester Namiwa has given Attorney General (AG) Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda a seven-day ultimatum to furnish the public with information pertaining to the K750 million which the nation was duped in a fertilizer deal.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday morning, Namiwa said the AG must tell Malawians if the money has paid been back in full, if not he must voluntarily resign per his promise that he would resign if he fails to facilitate the return of the money.
Namiwa and his Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) have also threatened to hold vigils at the AG’s office should there be no information after the stipulated time.
