A 15-year-old boy died in a road accident on Tuesday after he fell down from a moving vehicle in Dowa.

The deceased has been identified as Rodrick Finwel from Chembe Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa District.

“The accident involved a Toyota Dyna Pick-up registration DA 9536 driven by Ezadi June, 50, from Mchakulu Village in Traditional Authority Chiwere in Dowa District from the direction of Lilongwe going towards Salima with six passengers on board,” Dowa police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha said.

“Upon arrival at Namanda Village, one of the passengers, Rodrick Finwel (now deceased) fell from the moving vehicle and landed on the tarmac road with his head.”

He was rushed to Salima District Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival while the motor vehicle had no damages.
