Pregnant women around Khosolo Health Centre in Mzimba district can now breathe a sigh of relief following the renovation of a guardian shelter at the facility which has been in bad condition for so long.
CCAP synod of Livingstonia education department on Friday, May 26, 2023, handed over the renovated guardian shelter to Khosolo Health Center through a K6.5 million World Servants project.
Mussa Nyirenda, World Servants Project Manager, said they renovated the guardian shelter after noticing that it had cracks and was about to collapse.
“We have been touched looking at situation of toilets, bathrooms and guardian shelter which was like a death trap hence our move to renovate and constructed them and now we are handing over to the facility,” said Nyirenda.
He added: “As a church we believe that people should grow spiritually and physically so if they have poor facilities, it compromises their hygiene and sanitation that’s why today we have assisted through the project,” said Nyirenda.
Khosolo Health Centre in Charge George Chikoya hailed CCAP synod of Livingstonia for the gesture.
“We appreciate the constructions of toilets, bathrooms, renovation of guardian shelter and now we are able to work efficiently and good even at night due to solar electricity that they have installed at the facility,” said Chikoya.
Traditional Authority Khosolo, whilst welcoming the development, urged well-wishers to assist the facility in different areas in order to provide conducive environment to patients.
