United Democratic Front (UDF) vice president for the eastern region Hasheem Banda has resigned from his position and the party respectively.
Making the announcement at a press briefing in Zomba on Friday, Banda cited unfavourable working relationship with some party members as the reason behind his decision.
He also said he was also prohibited from attending the recent party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Blantyre by people who claimed that they were instructed by a senior party official, hence the decision.
Banda said he is yet to decide on his next political move.
“I’m open to work with any political party with shared ideologies,” Banda said.
