Traditional Authority (TA) Chikowi in Zomba has warned that she will deal with any chief under her jurisdiction who is not going to adhere to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) systems.

Chikowi made the warning during an award presentation ceremony to well performing WASH communities, organized by Water Aid under its Deliver Life project at Chuluchosema in Zomba.

According to the T/A, chiefs who do not adhere to hygienic systems, set a bad example to their communities which filtrates cases of cholera and other waterborne diseases.

On his part, Water Aid Program officer, Laston Zungu said he is satisfied with the work that has been done in the areas where the project was implemented and is optimistic that it will be sustained.
