The body of unidentified female person believed to be either European or of Asian origin was recovered along Mudi River in Blantyre on Thursday, with police saying they are treating the death as murder.
Southwest Region Police spokesperson Joseph Sauka said the deceased appeared to be around 30 years of age.
He further said the deceased body had distinctive tattoos of a snake, a bird, the word written “Malawi” on her right lower leg, and a winged naked woman on her left lower leg.
On her fateful day, she wore a pair of soft jean trousers labelled “DIOR”.
The body is currently being kept at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification.
Police have since launched investigations into the matter.
