A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after squandering K18 million through a virtual game.

Rodney Kandulu, 25, who was working as Area 3 Premier Bet office cashier, is being accused of playing multiple Premier Bet Navigator game while at the workplace on August 4, 2024.

Lilongwe Police Station spokesman Hastings Chigalu said Kandulu allegedly placed multiple bets of K1 million minimum, and K4.5 million maximum, for several times totaling to K18 million.

The suspect will answer a charge of theft by servant.
