A 42-year-old man is in police custody in Lilongwe for allegedly for killing his wife with an axe, accusing her having extra marital affair. 

Isaac Patisi hacked Azefa Kasamanda, 36, several times on her chest before leaving her in a pool of blood.

He fled the scene without anyone knowing of the incident.

“Later, the suspect called his sister in-law on the cellphone, telling her to rush to the couple’s house to see for herself,” Lilongwe Police Station spokesman Hastings Chigalu said.

“The suspect then walked on foot from Malingunde and handed himself over to police at Area 3, by 06:30 hours same day where he narrated of the incident.”
