Minister denounces political violence

By Lauryn M’banga

Homeland Security minister Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has called on the citizenry to refrain from violent activities which may lead to political unrest in the run up to the 2025 general elections.

He made the call following the pelting of President Lazarus Chakwera’s convoy with stones earlier this month.

Ng’oma described the incident as uncalled for.

“The presidential convoy is sacred, and anyone found tampering with it will face the law without any excuse,” said Zikhale Ng’oma in a statement.

He therefore called on leaders of various political parties in the country to ensure that their followers are not taking part in any malpractice in the country.
