Minister of Transport and Public Works Jacob Hara has condemned the tendency of political parties of ferrying supporters to political rallies in big open vehicles.
Hara said this as the campaign period for elections is fast approaching where the tendency is mostly rampant, and most road accidents also occur.
He said vehicles such as lorries are prone to road accidents hence risking people’s lives.
Hara said political parties need to start planning now and find alternative measures of ferrying their supporters around during political rallies to avoid fatal and serious roads accidents.
He also emphasized that penalties will be attached to institutions that fail to comply.
