Minister upbeat on steady fuel supply

Minister of Energy, Ibrahim Matola says government has secured foreign exchange facilities for immediate fuel procurement amid a crisis whose end remains obscure.

Through a media statement Matola said his office is taking actions to ensure stability and strengthening collaboration with neighbouring countries for enhanced supply.

Matola said currently they have initiated processes to increase delivery from ports of entry and that they have developed a crisis response technical team that is monitoring the fuel supply across the county.

He further acknowledged the impact of the crisis on the citizenry and the country’s economy and shares the same frustration as everyone, but was quick to assure Malawians that the situation will normalize soon.
